Welcome back and our sincere apologies

We understand that you are all flustered and exasperated over what happened over the past two weeks and I wanted to mention that we deeply regret what happened. This is also to allay all your concerns that we are closed down - I wish to re-iterate that we are very much in operation and what happened was just an honest mistake. Due to unavoidable personal issues, I had to be away the past two weeks. We did have somebody looking over the server, but unfortunately, they were only instructed to look at the homepages of random forums from the directory. As you all know, this issue affected only the topics and hence went undiscovered until I got back. What did happen was that the server suffered a crash and our hosts booted it back up, but failed to remove the core dumps that were left as a result of the crash. Owing to which, new files could not be created. Our system works on cached files and since files could no longer be cached, pages could not be displayed. We have a cache of the homepage at all times and so, the homepage worked fine, but none of the topics/posts did. I've had a tough two weeks and I'm sure it was tougher for all of you. I can't insist enough as to how apologetic I am about the whole scenario. As a last word, I'd like to mention that if at all we ever close down, we will offer a full database backup for every forum. Thanks to all of you for standing by us during this crisis and special thanks to all those supportive messages on the support forum - they really are what keeps us going.
